Day 365(!!!): Free Wine

image

I thought long and hard (a whole 45 seconds!) Before deciding what to post for my final 365 days blog.

I know I post a lot of selfie type pictures and a lot of food so I will share this final one.

Me in front of the FREE Irache wine fountain in Spain. Yes, free wine. It wasn’t actually that bad!
Peace to my wonderful blog followers. I promise to post more blogs and a new series when I return home from my trip.

Drink wine.
Eat food.

Live.

Day 364: On Trail

image

We’ve been on trail for eight days now and I must admit that I’m pretty exhausted. I can’t imagine completing the entire Camino in one go.

Wifi has been fairly easy to get in most places which means that keeping in touch with my hubster and those back home has been good.

I have eaten tons of food while on trail and take many food pictures. I am somewhat looking forward to cooking my own food when I come home, but I have really enjoyed the food here.

I have three more trail days then I will travel back to Madrid and catch a flight home.
I will miss the people that I have met on trail. I have made two friends in particular that I hope to keep in touch with. We have been hiking all together since the second or third day.
My days are blending together. I should check my notes and journal before blogging probably. Hah!

Day 363: Jet Laggin’

image

Look how beautiful and cheerful we are!!
Yeah…that didn’t last.

We were at airports from 11AM on the 29th to 3AM on the 30th if you don’t count the time changes.

I can’t quite explain how miserable jet lag feels. We walked around and chugged water but because we got zero sleep on the 8 hour plane ride we felt like super poop.

Thankfully, the effects are not long lasting.

Day 362: Jockey Gate

image

Waiting at the airport I found that each gate had a letter and number that was referenced on the boarding pass then as an added cutesy they had jockey jersey designs at each gate. No one refered to these, but they added some local flair to the airport.

Our flight changed twice over and for a while we thought we would miss it entirely. Thankfully, our airport did not let us down–we enjoyed sitting at the gate for about two hours before boarding.
Then we sat on the plane forever.

Day 361: Car Chase Face

image

Don’t worry. As the designated passenger I took the photo. As a proper send off I went with my hubbster, my bro and SiL to Taco Bell. Because it is real Spanish food. It’s okay to laugh.

Going to Taco Bell is a tradition we started back in high school. Life, school and work got in the way of our initial plans, which was to make mojitos as a send off for my trip. We thought TBell was a good and funny substitute. Have I mentioned that I love these kids?

Day 359: Loaded Pack

image

My pack is loaded and I’m ready to fly. A few minor adjustments and I’ll be off in a plane!

I’m writing this blog the day before (of course). I will likely be too panicky the day of the flight.
Even tho I have nothing to worry about the security part of getting into an airport makes me nervous. I guess I have fears that for some reason out of my control they will detain me.

Prepackaged granola and an empty water bottle will be the most scandalous things I plan on having in my carry on bag.

Wish me luck in my travels!
