This carved and painted owl is the one the vineyard has in the entry way. Very fitting for Owl Creek Vineyard. Also, this is the logo they use on their bottles and wine glasses.
O is for Owl, kids. This one was.just too cute not to share. After our visit and wanderings it was hard.yo walk out the door without a bottle of their wine. It went beautifully as pre-dinner while we made supper that night.

I’m not really sure wwhat to call this piece of art. It is made with yarn but the stitches look to be embroidery style. Is this tapestry work?
It’s pretty neat to be sure. They used a fuzzy wild yarn for the fluffy feathers around the eyes.of he owl.
The second owl was made using the same method and has quite the intense look.
I wandered around the lodge taking photos of all their wall art and I think I made the lady running the bar a little nervous.
I wonder if people just give random owl junk to their winery. It wasn’t tacky decorating just lots of cool owl pictures created using many different mediums.

Owl creek vineyard has a three tiered wooden deck behind their building. At the bottom of the triple decker is an old flat bed farm truck.
They use this as their stage and every Saturday they have a free concert. You are encouraged to buy wine and food but they gave me the impression they were just creating an awesome hang out zone.
Better yet, there is no smoking on the decks or property so you don’t have to worry about being downwind of smoke while you’re enjoying the concert.

Our visit to Owl Creek Vineyard was a very enjoyable experience. I highly suggest it to anyone traveling in the Southern Illinois area.

I am not a pro wino. So I will be offering no pro tips on how to attend a wine tasting or enjoy the full bouquets of the wines.
In fact my go to wine comes from a screw top $9.00 wine bottle of blackberry Merlot. High class I know.
I don’t put on airs but I loved the atmosphere created at this vineyard.
