Kat Deals with Anger

The other day I got really mad. It was the type of mad that quickly leads to frustration because nothing can be done. It was the type of mad that because nothing can be done I wanted to punch things.
After storming around the house like a three year old in a tantrum, I decided to redirect my negative energy to make good things happen.

First, I put on music to reset the mood, same energy, less anger. I avoided the mopey love songs and the angry thrasher rock. You might hit up your favorite work out list.
Next, I took my makeup bag, dumped it out and organized it by type of makeup. I did not use it all, but I chose at least one of each type.
Mineral foundation, bronzer, eyeliner, two types of mascara for popping lashes, two different eye shadow colors, my deep red lipstick, eyebrow pencil and tiny bit of blush.
It was heavy, but necessary. I wanted it to be extreme (for me) but not leave me looking like an alien.
After makeup, I brushed out my hair and took several photos until I felt perdy. I realize selfies are silly, but again, I needed this.
After getting pretty, I made two loaves of pumpkin bread. Not only did I end up with a delicious bread but a yummy blog as well.

I even washed up some dishes.
I kinda wish I could get that angry more often. I would have fresh baked breads and a clean house all the time! Well, maybe I would rather be messy and happy.

How do you deal when you’re so angry you can’t see straight?

Day 177: Corny Nails

I know I have posted about these before but I have gotten a bit better at them and I wanted.to show them off.

I also have the correct yellow so I am really loving them.
This time I really got good coats of color on there too. The corn candy nails lasted most of the week and I had to remove it for work anyway–which took forever.

Anyone doing fun makeup or costumes for Halloween?

My costume is almost complete and I can’t wait to share it with you!!!

Day 164: Homemade French Tips

Bren, the baby already has fingernails!

No, there is no baby. I just felt that a Juno quote was appropriate.

Thee are my homemade French tips. I mean you nail divas of the world are scoffing. So let me impress you with my lack of experience.

I don’t do nail art and just recently discovered those adorable stickers that you put on your nails and paint clear over.

I did these suckers freehand. Which was actually easier than I first imagined. With lots of practice I plan to be a French tipping queen.

My right hand was much much worse. Notice I am not posting a picture of my right.

Someone told to try those hole reinforcement stickers you can get for school. I may give that a whirl.

Day 145: Candy Corn Nails Practice

Alright,  go ahead with your Nailed It jokes. This is my first attempt at candy corn fingernails that I found on pinterest. And my second attempt of any kind of nail art.

I know I need a different yellow because the one I have is too golden. My white and orange are good however so it gets the basic effect.

I am still debating applying fake nails to pull this off. I have only put on fake nails one other time in my life and they felt really weird and goofy. For Halloween I guess I could give it a whirl…..shrug.

Whether you think I nailed it or not I think they look adorable!

N is for Nail Polish

Okay, so I don’t have quite as many colors as is pictured above. But I love painting my nails. Sometimes you just have to do something super girly and this is the quickest way to get that point across.

That super sexy black strapless may not fit the way it did five years ago, but neon blue will still make your fingers pop!

Getting my nails done at a salon is not as enjoyable, but painting nails at a slumber party is definitely my speed. Conversations about boys, punching someone’s face in, upcoming exams, or life in general.

Nail polish is relatively inexpensive, expresses self/moods and is simply FUN in a bottle!
