Day 132: Ugly Lamps Part Two

This lamp was just plum impressive. It is an electric chair and the lights blinked as if it was electrocuting someone.
Awfully morbid and very spooky. I think this would be an awesome prop in a haunted house or for a Halloween party.

My husband tells me that this weird oil lamp style was actually really popular for some time. I believe the painted bits and googly eyes attached to the statue were the made parts. It was pretty hideous to look at and the googly eyes were disturbing.

Day 131: Ugly Lamps Part 1

I am breaking up the ugly lamps post similarly to the cakes and crafts.
These lamps are all part of Lynn’s Paradise Cafe Ugliest Lamp Contest.
There are two cetegories within this contest. A) Born ugly or B) Made ugly.

The above lamp has got to be an homage to the sexy leg lamp in A Christmas Story. Except this one is in a neon green and pink cast. Very classy.
All of the lamps have to emit some sort of light or else you can’t call it of course.

Another one of my favorites was this lamp. The lampshade is made entirely of linked together paper clips. Super impressive. The glass base is also filled with paperclips. I would actually have a lamp like this in my home. It would be an awesome conversation piece.
