Day 356: Animal Pileup

They show their love for each other in weird, weird ways. At the end of a day where dogwood winter has set in the animals want to pile up like puppies.

Not only is Isabella hugging her brother’s butt, she is getting squashed by my legs wrapped up in blankets. She stayed like this for over 30 minutes. That is a fairly long time for our spazz of a cat.

Day 307: Ivy-cat Love

While having a sleepover at my sister’s house we passed up sleeping in her room for sleeping in what I call “the sheik’s tent”.
During the holidays, a bed, lamps and bedside tables were set up in the basement. Blankets were hung from the ceiling to the floor and carpeting was put down in that section.

With a small area heater the little room stays quite cozy. We took a counter top TV downstairs and watched movies until 1:30a. Pretty wild for me, since I hit the hay around 9:30 or 10p.

The cat’s name is Ivy. She does not like being picked up or handled. Like most cats, Ivy does love on her own terms. She has recently gained substantial weight so laying on my chest made it difficult to breath.

My last words were, “more weight.”
Heh heh, theater jokes.

Day 203: Separation Issues

When Isabella sees we have sat down on the couch she usually nestles on or beside us somehow.

She also gets understandably irritable when we move from our sedentary states.

This picture was Bellys reaction to when Kit said it was time to go feed the cattle.
She is barely a five pound cat and therefore takes very little effort to move but after being taken off a warm spot she wanders around the house yowling her complaints.

I love how much attitude my cat gives when I fuss at her. She’s like a teenager full of angst except she can’t steal our car or lock her bedroom.

Day 168: Lap Cat

While cleaning house and cooking for my birthday dinner my cat decided to be needy.

Not really sure why she goes through spells like this. She doesn’t have separation anxiety the way a dog would but she immediately leapt into my lap like this anytime I sat down.

She was like his yesterday as well. However I think it was less of a social call and more due to the fact that it was cold and I had the fleece blanket out on the couch.

I really do try not to post a cute picture of my dog and cat every day but it is so dang difficult. They do cute stuff all the time.

I bought my cat a $20 S-shaped cat scratcher and we buy her mouse shaped toys for her adoption anniversary….what does my cat love the best?
Playing fetch with a Ziploc bag tied in a knot. Ten cent entertainment.
