Day 334: Camo Cat

image

Had to share this picture because it was too cute. The background is a bed sized bean bag (yes, it’s awesome), and the kitty on top is a tortoiseshell cat named Ivy. The same one who acted as my movie watching companion a few weeks back.

It may not be a perfect match but she is blending fairly well. Maybe this breed of fat faced cats was meant to lurk in furniture and skulk beneath shadowed loveseats.

She nabbed my seat when I went to the bathroom and since it is a bean bag the weight tends to droop to the middle. There was lots of adjusting before I got my seat back and she was lying on top of me.
Oh, cats…

Day 332: Buzzed Kitty

image

Went to visit my mum and take pictures of her ridiculous cat. Apple is a longhaired cat that had collected some nasty matted hairballs in her fur. She went to the vet to be groomed.

My mom’s definition of grooming is a little different than the results pictured. From here on out, Apple will get twice daily a brushing to try to keep the tangles out. The hard part will be getting her used to the attention and feel of brushing.

Apple does love perching on laps and adores the attention so maybe she’ll take a shine to at home grooming. She definitely hated her trip to the vet so maybe that will encourage her to appreciate her home.
Apple’s hair on head and tail are normal but her body is shaved. It was too comical not to share.

Day 262: Coin on Cat

image

Visited my parents’ house and couldn’t help but pester my old cat. My brother and I raised this cat and poked at her so much that she really doesn’t mind us now.

Before you get your panties in a twist, we didn’t do anything to hurt Apple. We were teenagers but we weren’t inherently mean.

She will not put up with other people trying to fool around with her. She barely tolerates flea medication from my parents.

When me or my brother tease her or balance things on her—she endures it. She closes her eyes and thinks of England.

In the spirit of Christmas, I balanced a gold foil coin on her head. She sat like this for about 15 minutes just sleeping on my lap.
Love my old grouchy cat.

Day 261: Tree Shots

image

The hilarious thing about all the dozens of tree pictures I took last month are that I have a half dozen pins about how to take great Xmas tree photographs. As you can see, I pinned them and completely forgot to read the tips.

I really had to capture this moment despite my cell phone not taking the best pictures. My cat curled up tight as a ball and some of our Christmas presents nestled under the tree.

Day 216: Kitten Curl

You know it is time for yet another picture of one of my animals acting cute like.

The weather turns colder the animals keep snuggling closer.
As I type these words I am under a little fleece blanket with my cat snuggled at my hip and my dog snuggled by my calf.
They are just about as close as they can get :-)

I wouldn’t trade my mini-hot water bottles for anything. They are a joy and light when everything outside is so gray.

Kit isn’t bad either. He is a big hot water bottle and the best snuggle bear. I’m a bit sentimental if you can’t tell.
