Happy Challenge

In the wake of the Government shutdown and the sort-of-launched Affordable Care Act, I have noticed that there is very little enjoyable things on the news feeds of any of my social network sites. Even hanging out with my friends eventually leads to the depressing topic of over 800K people out of work. Minus those 400K who are back to work….It still means that the livelihood of many people has been put on hold until some unannounced date.

This Happy Challenge should probably be something we do everyday. Especially now because everyone seems so unhappy with things–regardless of your side. Add something happy to your life each day. Whether it be in conversation or any social network you belong to. If you update your status message a few times a day or share links with friends let one of those shares be happy.
Restrictions on this Happy Challenge? Really not much. It has to be something that makes you happy. It could be pictures of animals too adorable for words such as those found on Cuteoverload.com.
doggieunderwater
It could be that hilarious video that had you snorting milk through your nose:

Or, perhaps you would like to share a new favorite recipe that is just to die for, like this recipe for Oven Fried Mushrooms I found on Cooking Tip Of the Day.

You can share personal stuff or just about anything. Make sure it is something that makes you happy and isn’t related to all this jacked up stuff that the news media is fully covering for us.

You’ve been challenged. Share something happy.

What made you happy today?
Please share with me, I do need more happy on my blog/facebook/tumblr/twitter/instagram/greader/reddit/inbox.

Can Haz Desktop

I am sure it has been painfully obvious by my posts that I have been blogging from my Android phone for….over a year. It has been supremely difficult to update my pages and add those special touches that only a full computer can offer. Don’t get me wrong, the Android application for WordPress is awesome and all the updates just keep getting better! It is great for on the go posting and I will likely still use it as such.
However, my tech savvy brother has refurbished an old desktop computer he found. Check dis’ shit out:

computer

I have already messed with the old desktop photos and added my first sticker to the monitor. On the bottom left of the monitor is the bat symbol. Typical symbol of cavers.

I haven’t just dealt with the cosmetics of it. I got a USB wifi converter so I don’t have to use an ethernet cable. And I added a ton of updates to the virus protection software. I tried to download the Spotify player, but ran into some major playback issues, which means I’m stuck with the web player.

I have been making blogging plans the last few days. You might just pee yourself. Okay, well, maybe not that exciting. Please, go and inkle if you have the inkling. Don’t wait on me to stop spazzing about the fact that I have a computer again.

I have been able to update my About Me page. There are very few differences if you have already read it. I just made sure that my dates and such are appropriate.
You may not have noticed, but it was driving me nuts that my 365 Series Page wasn’t fully updated since I completed the blog series. It has said *Under Construction* for months. I finally fixed it!! Check out my 365 Series: 301-265.

I hope to have more fun blogs coming up soon. However, I must get my computer legs underneath me before I just post ten blogs in one day and overload with excitement.

Five Pet Peeves and Favorites

Making lists are fun. Here are two short ones. Anybody share these peeves and faves?

Pet peeves

1. People clipping their nails and allowing them to fly around a room or church sanctuary—a deacon really did this during a sermon and I almost puked. It is part of your body please contain it!

2. People who have functioning turn indicators on their vehicles and choose not to use them.

3. Anyone who sneezes directly in my face or snots on me. Even cats.

4. When I lose sleep thinking about something stupid I said or did for years after it happened.

5. People who make a terrible gutteral cough while continuing to walk in a public place and choose not to cover their mouths.

Favorites

1. Hugs. Real hugs.

2. When people are simply nice, without having to be.

3. The last five or ten pages of an awesome book. Squeee!!

4. Cold morning, warm snuggle bear AKA the hubbster.

5. Singing loudly along with the radio in the car.

My Base is Growing…!

My base of readers is growing slowly but steadily!
I hope to keep posting blogs about things that interest or inspire you!

I currently have 106 followers on wordpress and by email subscription.

There are over 260 people following on other platforms that have the opportunity to see my blog posts as well.

Plus, my mom recently told me that even though she can’t figure out how to subscribe, I should add one more to my count of faithful readers.

More than the stats and data, I appreciate that each individual takes a few minutes out of their busy day to chuckle at my thoughts, comment on my feelings, and enjoy my pictures (mostly of food).

Hugs, confetti, and ‘thank yous’ all around. You cats sure know how to make a girl feel special.

Alive!

Don’t worry everybody I’m not dead! I’m alive and kicking.

I’ve jumped right into the spring schedule with both feet and am preparing to leave for my trip in just 23 days! Ahhhh!

Honestly, I haven’t been taking pictires–which is entirely weird of me. But I promise to jump back on the horse and get things done.

Instead, I will give you two pictures of bacon food that were inspiring. Bacon as a wrapper is quite interesting to me. I wonder if you could wrap sushi rolls in bacon instead of nori.

I love this meal to pieces because it all looks yummy, but the bacon wrapped veggies crack me up. I can see picky eaters thinking veggies are not gross, they just taste like bacon.

Now the bacon taco must have taken a bit of work. Just wow.

Promise to post more regularly and take more pictures. Have a great Saturday. Me? I’ll be 300+ feet underground.
