Day 333: Raffy Bat

image

This is the Rafenesque’s big-eared bat at one of the cave entrances. Hope this helps: Raw-fin-nesk. If you think the Raffy’s common name is a mouth full then go ahead and Google their scientific name. I have a scientist buddy who spits them out without hesitation. Oh, to be a bat scientist.

I was ecstatic that I got to see him/her because I hadn’t seen one on person.

I have several awful pictures of me grinning widely just below him. Typically, me and self-portraits don’t have good results.

Even though four tours have been passing by this bat daily, he can’t be bothered.

Here’s a close up of the little beauty. He has one ear unfurled so he can listen to the world turn. You can see why they are called the big-eared bat.

Day 317: Gorgeous-Ugly

image

Okay, sorry for scaring you!
My friend posted a link on Facebook about gorgeous girls doing ugly faces.
I’m gorgeous.
And I am semi-famous in my circle of friends for making obnoxious faces in and ruining photos.
So why not me too?

I do not want to post it to submit it to a website that is followed by a gagillion people. I’m not ready for that kind of fame. Though I am totally ready to share with you guys.

At first I wanted to glam-up in my hot picture but I figured that would ruin the purity of the photo. Fine art. *eye roll*

Day 164: Homemade French Tips

image

Bren, the baby already has fingernails!

No, there is no baby. I just felt that a Juno quote was appropriate.

Thee are my homemade French tips. I mean you nail divas of the world are scoffing. So let me impress you with my lack of experience.

I don’t do nail art and just recently discovered those adorable stickers that you put on your nails and paint clear over.

I did these suckers freehand. Which was actually easier than I first imagined. With lots of practice I plan to be a French tipping queen.

My right hand was much much worse. Notice I am not posting a picture of my right.

Someone told to try those hole reinforcement stickers you can get for school. I may give that a whirl.

Day Seventy-Five: Bloomin’

fragrant lilacs :D

Every day when I go outside to feed the farm animals before school I inspect my lilac bush and every day the flowers are not quite perfectly bloomed yet. We’ve been having crazy super dry then wet weather and super hot then cold weather. I think that has been slowing their process down a little bit.

Today was the first real day where they were super fragrant and almost completely bloomed. there are still a few closed buds, but walking by the smell envelopes you in amazing.

After my beautiful march bells wilt at the end of March then my beautiful lilac bush in the front yard takes that vacancy in April. Please come by my house and enjoy their awesomeness.
