Can Haz Desktop

I am sure it has been painfully obvious by my posts that I have been blogging from my Android phone for….over a year. It has been supremely difficult to update my pages and add those special touches that only a full computer can offer. Don’t get me wrong, the Android application for WordPress is awesome and all the updates just keep getting better! It is great for on the go posting and I will likely still use it as such.
However, my tech savvy brother has refurbished an old desktop computer he found. Check dis’ shit out:

computer

I have already messed with the old desktop photos and added my first sticker to the monitor. On the bottom left of the monitor is the bat symbol. Typical symbol of cavers.

I haven’t just dealt with the cosmetics of it. I got a USB wifi converter so I don’t have to use an ethernet cable. And I added a ton of updates to the virus protection software. I tried to download the Spotify player, but ran into some major playback issues, which means I’m stuck with the web player.

I have been making blogging plans the last few days. You might just pee yourself. Okay, well, maybe not that exciting. Please, go and inkle if you have the inkling. Don’t wait on me to stop spazzing about the fact that I have a computer again.

I have been able to update my About Me page. There are very few differences if you have already read it. I just made sure that my dates and such are appropriate.
You may not have noticed, but it was driving me nuts that my 365 Series Page wasn’t fully updated since I completed the blog series. It has said *Under Construction* for months. I finally fixed it!! Check out my 365 Series: 301-265.

I hope to have more fun blogs coming up soon. However, I must get my computer legs underneath me before I just post ten blogs in one day and overload with excitement.

$@#%&?!!!

Cursing.

As I gain more followers I am becoming more and more nervous about cursing on my public blog.

Cursing is a normal part of my life, but I also don’t need it to get across my ideas in the blogosphere.

I want to sprinkle my blog with curse words. On the other hand, I don’t want to send half my readers running and screaming in terror at my vulgarities.

Options

A) Curse whenever I please, internet people be damned!!

B) Warn readers, at the beginning of vulgar blogs and attempt to omit curse words when possible.

C) Never Curse, which will leave you with a still humerous, but much more edited and conservative version of myself.

What should I do?
I need your help, readers.

My Base is Growing…!

image

My base of readers is growing slowly but steadily!
I hope to keep posting blogs about things that interest or inspire you!

I currently have 106 followers on wordpress and by email subscription.

There are over 260 people following on other platforms that have the opportunity to see my blog posts as well.

Plus, my mom recently told me that even though she can’t figure out how to subscribe, I should add one more to my count of faithful readers.

More than the stats and data, I appreciate that each individual takes a few minutes out of their busy day to chuckle at my thoughts, comment on my feelings, and enjoy my pictures (mostly of food).

Hugs, confetti, and ‘thank yous’ all around. You cats sure know how to make a girl feel special.

New Blog Mini Series~Coming Soon!!

Hey all!

image

When I returned from my trip, I asked what types of blogs you have liked in the past or would like to see in the future. So this is what is coming up!

I am currently drafting (weird for me) a blog mini-series in which I categorically break down my adventures in Spain. Brief though it may have been, I tried to soak up the culture and every scrap of food during my stay.

Currently, my mini-series consists of one introductory blog and eight blogs of content.
If, while writing, I find they are too long for the reader of average interest I will break it into better bitesize installments.

Food
People
Places
Hiking
Travel
More about food
Camino

And more….      (probably about food)

Return of the Kat

I’m home!!

Had roughly 7 hours of sleep, food, coffee, water and even planned dinner for tonight.

Can you believe my productivity?
I just generally being lazy. I could do more if I wanted.

In fact today’s plan involved washing up my laundry from the trip, but I got sidetracked when I found baby chicken #9 was laid out in the rain.

Slaughtering an animal for food is one thing, but walking away from a baby animal that is on death’s door is not something I can do.

I brought him in and held him in a dry washcloth for a bit so he could get some of my body heat. This may sound irresponsible but it was the best I could do—I gave the chick some human baby electrolytes (like pedialyte).

Drop by drop he was drinking and currently he is holding on. Nursing baby animals, especially birds is not a strong suit of mine. At least I can say he will be warm, dry and somewhat hydrated if I lose him tonight.

In addition to being the Nightingale to the chicken I am getting supper ready.

Dinner is a little bit random because I don’t want to have to make a full shopping list and spend hours at walmart just after vacation.

Supper is spicy quiche! I will put rotel tomatoes, onions, dry red pepper (+other spices), cheese, milk, and eggs in it.

Dessert is flan! I am using a box mix that we got ages ago at the salvage store. It has set up well in the fridge. Fingers crossed that it tastes as good as it looks.

I’ve missed my readers very much.

How have you all been?

Is there something in particular you would like to read a blog about?

Question for My Lovely Readers

Hey all!

I know it has been a while since I thanked you all for being amazing and reading my rambling about cooking and other such farmy nonesense.

THANK YOU!!
I keep blogging because I know y’all are readin’!

As you know, my trip to Spain is coming up soon and I won’t be able to sit down and type long blogs about what I ate/did—Can you blame me for soaking up as much culture while I’m there?

However, when I return I promise to share some my insight on part of the Camino trail and the food (because I’m an eater, by God!).

Kit and I have been cooking up a storm this afternoon and in addition to my rapid fire cell phone shots I took some video.
So my question is, are my legit readers interested in viewing a short video of my husband doing some cooking?

Beware, the quality is smartphone lowish, it is unedited, and I sound embarrassingly country when I speak.

image

It will probably be a password only video or available for viewing for a limited amount of time.

Alive!

Don’t worry everybody I’m not dead! I’m alive and kicking.

I’ve jumped right into the spring schedule with both feet and am preparing to leave for my trip in just 23 days! Ahhhh!

Honestly, I haven’t been taking pictires–which is entirely weird of me. But I promise to jump back on the horse and get things done.

Instead, I will give you two pictures of bacon food that were inspiring. Bacon as a wrapper is quite interesting to me. I wonder if you could wrap sushi rolls in bacon instead of nori.

image

I love this meal to pieces because it all looks yummy, but the bacon wrapped veggies crack me up. I can see picky eaters thinking veggies are not gross, they just taste like bacon.

image

Now the bacon taco must have taken a bit of work. Just wow.

Promise to post more regularly and take more pictures. Have a great Saturday. Me? I’ll be 300+ feet underground.
