E is for Eating

Dessert first!

Eating is something I have always loved to do and still love to do. I enjoy most foods: veggies, fruits, grains, meats, sweets, etc :)
This may not be what most people call fun, but I really enjoy it.

I like baking and cooking food and I really love eating it! I’m a grazer while I cook, so often times I’m full by the time everyone else is ready to eat.

I still believe the best way to eat a mango or watermelon is to sit on the back porch in the sunny afternoon with juice dripping down to my elbows and being so sticky and gross that I have to wash my arms in the watering hose outside.
Not every food has to be enjoyed via elbow ingestion, but some of the best experiences are where you can really dive into the food.

don't forget the turkey

Much like cooking and baking I really love to eat with other people. I will go to the extent of skipping an actual meal (only snacking) if I can’t find anyone to eat lunch with me.

I cannot express to you the joy of my taste buds when I first ate Indian food. Curry and lassi melting on my tongue. I ate very slowly, taking sips of icy water to clean my pallet between bites and reintroduce the spicy flavor to my mouth with each forkful.

Eating: You have to do it so often during your life time why not enjoy it? Add a bit of garlic or red pepper and really enjoy the food you’re eating.

Day Eighty-one: Walking Clothes

I will mortar board your face

Last week I picked up my cap n’ gown for graduation during the second week of May. I also have some pimpin’ red/white cords that I get to wear for the big day because of how awesome my GPA is currently. Summa Cum Laude in your face!! (For students 3.8-4.0 GPA, highest academic honor at my university)

I wore my hat and cords and work for about half an hour and as most students do, everyone completely ignored me.
I’m very excited about walking and can only hope not to trip or do anything really stupid during my walk. I just realized yesterday that I need to plan on what kind of outfit to wear underneath my robe. No nekkid walks!

With a To-Do list as long as I am tall I can only hope I graduate in May with my sanity still mostly there.
Wish me luck!

Day Eighty: Reptiles are Weird

Snake Neck Turtle

While at the TN Aquarium we saw Snake Neck/Side Neck/Long Neck/Short Neck turtles. Depending on the species they have slightly different names. This little dude pictured above is found in Australia and his glowing signage was given the heading “Long Necks Down Under.”

Hopefully, by now you realize how perverted I am. This is a family establishment so I had to keep my mouth shut, but I kept thinking how phallic this whole exhibit was and how I must just be a weirdo…Until I turned the corner and read this sign:

See, I wasn't lying

I’m not saying that the aquarium did this on purpose, but come on, somebody must be thinking about this fact other than me, right??

I didn’t get pictures of the visitors, but the people watching sport was choice at the aquarium. It was quite busy and all the people from the hills come down the mountain and were in full bloom that day.
