Day Twenty: Hide Your Husbands

Our Ball Gowns

This is me and my friend at a Civil War era festival that we have annually around here. We spent three hours dancing in huge hoop skirts. We did dances such as, Virginia Reel, Sweetheart Promenade, Broom Waltz, Carolina Promenade and Patty-Cake Polka.

Everything is more challenging in a huge hoop skirt, including jumping in a car to go to MacDonald’s afterwards. My friend and I never seem to want the night to end, so we usually go for ice cream afterwards and shock all the employees/guests by wandering into a 21st Century establishment.
